Course 01 · Visual awareness training

Spot sight loss early - and support it well.

Visual awareness training gives your team a practical understanding of how sight loss affects the people in your care. Many residents can't tell you their vision has changed - so knowing what to look for, and how to help, makes a real difference to their safety, confidence and wellbeing.

Created by our qualified opticians and available on demand, so your whole team can work through it in their own time and count it towards their continuing professional development.

Course 02 · Vision & dementia

Vision and dementia: why sight care matters.

Sight loss and dementia often go hand in hand - and untreated sight problems can make confusion, distress and falls much worse. This course helps your team understand the link, and gives them simple ways to make life clearer and calmer for residents living with dementia.

Often missed

Someone living with dementia may not be able to say their sight has changed. Vision problems are easily mistaken for the dementia itself.

It makes things harder

Untreated sight loss can increase disorientation, anxiety and the risk of falls - and reduce a person's appetite to join in.

Small changes help

Good lighting, bold contrast, clean glasses and a calm approach can transform a resident's day. We show your team how.

A gentler eye test

How we adapt the home eye test for residents with dementia - familiar surroundings, no rush, and a calm, patient approach.

For the whole team

Practical for carers, nurses and activity coordinators alike - no clinical background needed.

Joined-up care

Pairs naturally with our care home eye & hearing service and Digital Eye Care Portal.
